If you're anything like me, you're trying to make sense of everything that is unfolding around you.
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) encourages us to...
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
During these uncertain times while nations are faced with COVID-19, racial injustices, police brutality, mental health issues, and historic job losses - God requires us to trust Him - even in times of anxiousness. Even when we do what God asks of us, and we're faced with threats like the pandemic, God requires us to have faith. As despair around the globe cripples millions of individuals and families, Scripture encourages us to rely on Him. Proverbs 3:5-8 (ESV) states:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
When we seek the Father while in dark times, in faith, Jesus shows up, reaches out His hand, lovingly, waiting for us to snatch hold boldly - showing Him that we're willing to take a risk. Matthew 14:31(EVS) declares:
Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
In case we didn't know, Gospel music is therapeutic. Its healing powers, tearful verses, breath-taking beats, and inspiring rhythms are soothing to the soul and transformative to the mind, which lowers anxiety - especially if we've undergone a specific type of trauma.
As we listen to these stimulating lyrics, all while allowing the Holy Spirit to settle around us - let us believe that the Lord is changing our circumstances while recharging the mind. In fact, we must maintain that He's healing our nation, removing fear, and increasing our strength. Faith over fear is a powerful declaration that reassures that God is in control.
Believe it!
